जोयामा पार्क (मात्सुमोतो)
Joyama Park is a comprehensive municipal park atop the 650 m Mt. Joyama in Arigasaki, Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture. The site once held a Sengoku-era branch castle (Hayashi Daijo) of the Ogasawara clan. Listed among Japan's «Top 100 Cherry Blossom Sites,» the park is one of Matsumoto's premier cherry-blossom destinations, with about 400 Yoshino cherries and about 30 weeping cherries blooming in mid-April; due to its elevation, peak comes a few days later than on the plain. The observation plaza commands a sweeping panorama of downtown Matsumoto, the Northern Alps (Mt. Norikura, the Hotaka Range, Mt. Jonen), and Mt. Norikura itself. Combining cherry blossoms with the snow-capped Alps in a single frame yields a uniquely Matsumoto spring scene. A beloved municipal park, it offers different faces across the four seasons — cherry blossoms, fresh greens, autumn colors, and snow.
